UNOPS to Enhance Grant Management Skills of Ethiopian Ministry of Health Staff

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has secured $1.3 million in funding from the World Bank's International Development Association to support the Ethiopian Ministry of Health in enhancing grant management capabilities.

The project will involve providing comprehensive training programs, workshops, and study visits to equip Ministry of Health staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage grants. These initiatives aim to improve the Ministry’s ability to utilize grant funding to enhance healthcare services and improve public health outcomes.

“Investing in the skills and capabilities of the Ministry of Health workforce is crucial for driving long-term success and improving service delivery,” said Worknesh Mekonnen, Director of UNOPS Multi-Country Office in Ethiopia.

By strengthening the grant management capacity of Ministry of Health staff, UNOPS hopes to ensure that the Ministry is well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of the public and deliver high-quality healthcare services. The project is expected to have a significant impact on the Ministry’s ability to effectively manage grant funding and achieve its objectives.
