Total Ethiopia contributes 17 Million ETB to fight against COVID-19

Since the outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19 Total Ethiopia management is joining hands with is stakeholders and partners to find ways to minimize the impact on public health and to limit disruption of business activity and distribution of petroleum product.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic COVID-19 Total Ethiopia management is joining hands with is stakeholders and partners to find ways to minimize the impact on public health and to limit disruption of business activity and distribution of petroleum products in the country.

In so doing, Total Ethiopia in its Corporate Social responsibility program has taken various pragmatic and targeted actions as part of the national effort to fight the spread of the COVID-19; these projects are being implemented by creating a strategic partnership with concerned government authorities and stakeholders.

The company has finalized preparations to produce 100,000 bottles of hand sanitizers (500 ml. each & 80% Alcohol) and donate 80,000 bottles of sanitizers worth ETB 15,000,000 to the Ministry of Health & Ministry of Transport, and donation of fuel through Total Cards worth ETB 1,000,000 to the frontline ambulances & service vehicles of Health Institute (EPHI) under the Ministry of Health. This donation will extend to non-governmental organizations like MEKEDONIA with 10,000 sanitary soaps valued at 200,000 ETB.

In parallel with donations made to governmental and non-governmental institutions it pledged to maintain its activities of fuel and lubricants supply throughout the country with dedicated COVID-19 emergency fuel dispensing pumps in 50 Total stations in Addis & major upcountry towns.

Since the registration of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the county, the company has minimized staff presence in its office by deploying work and meeting online platforms that can be accessed from home. During the last 3 weeks, dedicated COVID-19 awareness voice messages against the virus are being transmitted to all employees and educational leaflets will be distribution to the public at Total stations.
