The award has recognized 15 out of 70 African startups that came across as innovative solutions to continental problems in several categories.
The Labor and Skills Minister, Muferihat Kamil, along with other high level government officials and representatives of international organizations has attended the award ceremony.
Muferihat appreciated the award as instrumental in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa.
She extended congratulations to Coffee Resurrect, an Ethiopian Startup, for winning the award in the Greentech category.
The startups that have been shortlisted for the Global Innovation Initiative Group (GIIG) are believed to bring solutions to global problems in their fields of engagement, according Muferihat.
The Global Startup Awards (GSA) is working to enable innovators across the continent access new markets, funding and a global network of leaders.
GSA has been organized by the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills (MOLS) in partnership with the Ethiopian Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) and Global Innovation Initiative Group (GIIG).
